Members of GS Medical Group will have completed 3 supervised cases or engaged with the group for at least 3 years, whichever is the sooner, are eligible to become Educational Supervisors subject to certain criteria and a satisfactory appraisal.
Appointments to the role however may also be made by any number of alternative routes for example via the Guesting Scheme, whenever this is appropriate.
To qualify as Educational Supervisors under GS Medical Group, Members must be Consultant Psychiatrists in a substantive post either in the NHS or the Independent Sector or hold equivalent academic position and recognised by the GMC as accredited Educational Supervisors for Higher Psychiatric Training.
Supervisors under GS Medical Group must be looking to establish a medicolegal practice and be able to demonstrate a commitment to medicolegal services and Education.
